With version 1.2, we’re releasing the second feature update for openDesk. Numerous applications were updated and enhanced with new functionality, and deployment was further optimised.
All applications in openDesk 1.2 received a host of new features! Here is an overview of the most important updates:
Nubus was updated from version 1.4.0 to 1.7.0. This version fixes a bug that previously prevented the use of the characters “@” and “/” in passwords. A new ad-hoc identity provider plugin for Keycloak was also added.
Nextcloud was updated from version 29.0.9 to 30.0.6. It’s now possible to filter files directly by name.
openDesk 1.2 includes Collabora Online version 24.04.12.4. Users can now undo actions using CTRL + SHIFT + Z and CTRL + F reliably opens the search field. In addition, the Collabora theme for the Enterprise Edition was revised, PDF 2.0 is now supported, and improvements were made to the slideshow and presenter console in Impress.
openDesk 1.2 includes Open-Xchange version 8.35. The display on mobile devices was significantly improved.
OpenProject was updated from version 15.1.0 to 15.4.1. This version introduces support for recurring appointments. Rescheduled work packages are now automatically adjusted along with their dependencies. It’s also possible to define agenda item outcomes.
openDesk 1.2 uses XWiki version 16.10.5. Notification buttons were redesigned. Different types of messages now include icons for easier visual distinction.
openDesk 1.2 uses Jitsi version 2.0.9955.
openDesk 1.2 includes Element version 1.11.89.
The newly developed Notes application, created as part of ZenDiS's European partnership with DINUM (la direction interministérielle du numérique), was updated to version 2.4 in openDesk 1.2. This version contains a revised user interface and many other improvements, e.g. blocks can now be formatted as quotations.
Version 1.2 includes several improvements for operating openDesk.
As part of consolidating required external services, XWiki and Nextcloud now use PostgreSQL instead of MariaDB in new deployments. Only Open-Xchange still requires MariaDB. For existing installations, please refer to the notes on upgrades and migrations.
The new option functional.externalServices.matrix.federation.domainAllowList allows you to define a whitelist of Matrix homeserver domains permitted for federation.
Postfix now supports subaddressing using the '+' delimiter.
More applications now support the use of external secrets in openDesk 1.2, including Nubus and Nextcloud. This support will be expanded further in future releases.
In installations where Open-Xchange is not rolled out, the Open-Xchange integration in Nextcloud is automatically disabled. The OX Provisioning Consumer is also not registered in such deployments. Here again, please refer to the notes on upgrades and migrations for more information.
Log message output in the Nextcloud container image was improved.
All applications now authenticate with the internal Postfix service.
Documentation updates include an overview of the functional configuration and a testing concept.
openDesk SaaS installations are automatically updated according to the SLA.
Self-hosted installations should follow the instructions for upgrades and migrations.
